You’ll have to explain the freezer/cooler bag. The last time I went, I didn’t explain and all the shelf items were put in the cooler bag. All of the freezer and cold items were put in a regular bag. The bread was put in the cooler bad and got smashed when he went to close it. He got it closed and ended up breaking the zipper. I now go to the self-checkout, I don’t care how much stuff I’m buying. At least I know I won’t smash my bread or put my ice cream in the wrong bag.

I’m constantly telling them how to do it too. They look at me like I’m annoying them. Helloooo, who wants smashed bread??

Comment on please make a note of not being so rude by D.A.D. http:///?p=782#comment-1058 Fri, 16 Apr 2010 23:44:03 +0000 http:///?p=782#comment-1058 Please let me know if you figure out why sites on which you pay your bills (utility, etc) which wo’t let you withdraw or change anything, just pay your bill, require a password. And particularly a password meeting their strict complexity rules. If someone else really wants to log onto my account and pay my bill with their money, I say they should be able to do so. They should provide a non-mandatory field on the login page where if you want, your password appears once you enter your user name (a) if you forgot it it’s right there (b)for use by generous strangers to pay your bills

Comment on weekend regrets by D.A.D. http:///?p=784#comment-1057 Fri, 16 Apr 2010 23:40:38 +0000 http:///?p=784#comment-1057 Ah, the mixed emotions of a pending conclusion. I feel that way about retiring, too. But as you note, the opportunity for exploring new things and places awaits. And those eleven years somehow will zoom by, and you too will shortly after that realize your child is 43. We all have those tugging thoughts about what we may have missed out on. Some of those things we can still experience. Sometimes it should be cause to recognize all the great things we have experienced.

I broke down in tears sitting at my desk. Thank you for capturing such a difficult emotion about such a difficult subject so well.

Comment on c’est practique… bien sur! (si on est american) by D.A.D. http:///?p=771#comment-977 Fri, 11 Dec 2009 22:30:36 +0000 http:///?p=771#comment-977 When I was a teenager and young man in Indianapolis (some 15 years ago) the law was auto dealers could not be open on Sundays. I believe that over the past several decades has probably gone away. And of course, liquor I think to this day cannot be sold there on Sundays. Perhaps if the establishment does a certain percent of business in food, then liquor is okay. How complicated.

Comment on a… b… c… d… huh? by D.A.D. http:///?p=770#comment-976 Thu, 12 Nov 2009 01:16:28 +0000 http:///?p=770#comment-976 I remember 五福彩票通用版APPwork in the upper grades of gradeschool, and how I absolutely resented the fact that adults got to go to work, then come 五福彩票通用版APP and do their thing at night. Work didn’t butt into their nightlife. I never understood why learning couldn’t be a during the day thing only. Kaitlyn probably won’t grasp the alphabet in French in a short time…after all it probably takes Frenchites as long as it takes Englishites to learn in their respective native languages. Patience is easier preached than practiced, so my non-advice shall stop now before you tell the computer screen “easy for you to say from over there, Dad….you’re not living this!”

Comment on scariest part was the bill by D.A.D. http:///?p=769#comment-975 Thu, 05 Nov 2009 01:26:28 +0000 http:///?p=769#comment-975 I particularly enjoyed the part about your having to stand wearing a bathrobe in the lobby of the hotel that didn’t have other people so standing. I can just see your face during that one. Remember as well that back some 40 years ago the trend started of people putting razor blades or pins into Halloween candy; I remember the thing of giving out money in part was to avoid being blamed for such horrible tactics. The other part was yes, we just weren’t heavily into the Halloween scene. Glad you found respite in Evian!!
